Finding out that your partner has been struggling with a sexual addiction and engaging in sexually compulsive behaviours is usually devastating. There is often stigma and shame associated with sharing your life with a sex addict and despite experiencing some considerable trauma, female partners in particular often feel unable to share their situation with anyone, and trying to cope alone can leave you feeling shocked, confused and isolated. Much of the literature that has been written for partners automatically and unhelpfully labels partners as 'co-addicts' or 'co-dependent.'
I specialize in working with female partners of male sex addicts and can offer both individual support and group work.
I offer a 12 week psycho-educational course and women's support group. The course covers all aspects of sexual addiction and will help you to understand what the terminology around co-dependency and co-addiction really means (and whether or not it applies to you). You will work in a closed group with other women who can understand your distress, where confidentiality is paramount, and where you can talk openly without fear of being judged.
Courses can be run in the daytime or evening and weekly sessions are two hours long.
